Florida Unigraphics Users Group Spring meeting report
The first meeting of the recently formed Florida Unigraphics
User Group was a resounding success! It was held on Friday, April 27 at Palm
Beach Community College in Lake Worth, FL. The meeting was attended by representatives
from the following companies: ADI Custom Training, CAD Potential, The New
Piper Aircraft, Regal Marine Industries, Marlin Industries, CDI Engineering
Services, Pratt & Whitney, Bausch & Lomb Surgical, Florida Production
Engineering, and Rockwell Collins.
The meeting opened at 9:00 AM for registration and a continental
breakfast. Presentations began at 10:00 AM with Joe Martinez, the President
of the Florida Unigraphics Users Group, giving a welcome and introduction.
Following that was a UGS company overview by Joseph Bosco of UGS, and a demonstration
of reverse engineering by Giorgos Hatzilias of Paraform. The afternoon schedule
included a presentation by David Anderson of ADI Custom Training showing
design optimization techniques using Scenario. This was followed by demonstrations
of V17 Assemblies, Freeform, Sketcher and Wave by John Shuba and Anna Stevens
of UGS.
Comments by attendees regarding the meeting location and presentations
were very positive! We are already looking forward to our next meeting! If
